Network Chiropractor,
What it is:- Network chiropractic is a blend of various schools of chiropractic. It follows the philosophy of chiropractic doctors in general which teaches that disease in the body stems from improper energy flow along the spinal column. Network chiropractic has taken the most useful parts of each of these schools and refined them to produce a comfortable but effective application. This chiropractic style differs from the type of adjustment most people have experience in that no force is applied to the patient's body.
This form of chiropractic adjust the energy flowing in and around the spine. Only rarely does the practitioner directly move the bones. Once the energy along the spine is normalized, the bones actually align themselves.
What it is not:- Network chiropractic is not a strong arm technique forcing your spinal column to shift in an arbitrary manner. It is not designed to counter a disruptive force with an even stronger force. As good as chiropractic manipulation can be, it can be almost as painful a process as the underlying condition.s

If it's so good, why haven't I heard of it? - Most adults have heard about chiropractic manipulations. Like most forms of therapy, chiropractic has several subdivisions. Even if you have had chiropractic manipulations yourself, it is unlikely your Doctor would have discussed the various schools with you. You may have had several different Chiropractic Doctors treat you. Although you might have noticed that they used different techniques, it is unlikely that you would connect this with different forms of chiropractic.
What will I see?- Dr. Van Cise does a thorough physical exam before starting any network chiropractic treatment. He also asks questions related to possible causes of the imbalance. The exam will pick up such abnormalities as "short leg", "laterality", and "correlation". Because humans are treated lying on their abdomens, one leg will actually be visibly shorter when the legs are flexed at the knees. Since most of our patients stand on four legs, this physical shift is not as apparent.
Once the degree and location of the changes have been established, a light touch is applied in very specific locations. This allows the energy to realign properly along the spinal column. Frequently your pet will move much more normally immediately after the treatment. Occasionally you may hear the spine pop back into place hours or days after the therapy session.
What does my pet feel?- While there is a lot of direct contact between Dr. V and your pet, all the touching is very light. The touch is so light that neither you nor your pet may be aware that a treatment is going on. Your pet feels no heavy pressure or pain. Frequently you will notice a more relaxed expression on your pet's face.
-
Why would I want this for my pet? - You might choose this form of alternative treatment because you have had good success with chiropractic therapy. While this does not guarantee that your pet will respond as well as you, it is usually beneficial to use treatments in which the owner has confidence.
Network chiropractic is also a good choice as a preparatory therapy. When the patient is in good spinal energy balance other forms of treatment, especially acupuncture and acuscope, work better. Network chiropractic is very useful as a "tune up" form of therapy to help your pet feel and function better.
